AW4 – Introduction to Curriculum Planning

This course provides an introduction to XR technology and curriculum resources available to staff members at Lumination Lab Schools.
Designed for staff seeking a deeper understanding, the course covers the current technology and resources available, along with essential strategies for finding additional XR content. By completing this course, participants will gain confidence in navigating and utilising XR resources, while building the foundational skills to source their own resources in the future, enhancing their ability to integrate immersive technology into the learning environment.
Course Content
Module objectives:
- Introduce participants to the Design Thinking Framework.
- Discuss the 5 ways VR is best used in the classroom.
- Explain how Station Based Learning can be utilised to engage a full class in the space.
Module objectives:
- Expose participants to what technology is available for their use.
Module objectives:
- Run participants through the Lumination Safety Poster.
- Provide participants with a checklist of items to consider before running a session in the lab.
Module objectives:
- Expose participants to the variety of resources available on the Lumination Education Centre.
- Discuss the intended purpose of each type of resource.
Module objectives:
- Inform participants of where they can source XR content.
- Practise finding 360° videos on YouTube.
