AW3.3 Merge Cubes

Optional Quiz – These questions will help you prepare for the final quiz, where the course content will be locked.
Slide 4 – Before viewing an AR experience through a device using a Merge Cube, ensure that the area is well lit and clear of tripping hazards. Always be mindful of obstructions in the room that might be obscured by the AR experience. When viewing the AR experience, be careful not to drop and damage the device. Remembering and following these safety guidelines is critical to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for both you and your students.
Slide 5 – Start by opening the Object Viewer app in your student device. In the app, you will find a list of collections to choose from. For this tutorial, let’s go ahead and select the ‘Architecture’ collection. Within the collection, there will be a scrollable gallery containing a variety of models to choose from. Let’s select the ‘Kokura Castle’. Once the model has loaded in, select the ‘Cube’ mode from the dropdown menu at the top of the screen. Then point the camera at the Merge Cube and allow it to focus. Once the camera has focused on the Merge Cube, the model will appear in place of the Merge Cube on the device’s screen. You can adjust the size of the model by swiping your fingers on the screen, and you can rotate the model by rotating the Merge Cube in your hand. You can also tap on the information icon to read about the model.
Slide 8 – Firstly, open the CoSpaces Edu app. To access a CoSpaces experience, you can either search for the CoSpaces experience you wish to view or you can also directly access the specific experience through using its QR Code or ‘share code’. If you wish to directly access an experience, firstly tap on this icon. Then you can choose to either scan its QR code or enter its share code. After this, press ‘Play’ to begin the experience. Once you have pressed play, hold the Merge Cube in front of the camera. Align it with the guide, and the experience should appear. Rotate the Merge Cube to explore the experience. Some experiences may have touch interactions. If there is an object that is interactable, the circle in the centre of the screen should enlarge.
